Improving the Lives of Korean Youth Through Outreach and Education

12 Days of Christmas – [#10] The Power of an Education

Gabby, Hank, and Jay. ByungKyung and Minyeal.

With your help, three preschool scholars began their educational journey in 2020. With your generosity, two college scholars will graduate from university this semester.

KKOOM’s Preschool and College Scholarship Programs provide financial assistance for those government funding allocates little to. The South Korean government provides the least amount of financial subsidies for the “bookends” of the age spectrum, instead primarily supporting elementary through high school students.

Since 2007, KKOOM has supported 14 toddlers and 14 college students through educational programs. Doing so levels the playing field, allowing the youngest scholars to learn fundamentals such as counting, basic life skills, or Hangul, the Korean alphabet. Our college scholars earn their degrees with confidence, thanks to your support, to believe in the future of their dreams.

Nelson Mandela once said that “education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

To learn more and how to give to our scholarship programs, you can visit the preschool scholarship page or college scholarship page via GlobalGiving, which also gives more details about their progress in school.

Thank you for joining KKOOM in providing educational opportunities that change the lives of students halfway across the world. We believe in the power of education and together, we change their worlds.
