Improving the Lives of Korean Youth Through Outreach and Education

12 Days of KKOOM – A Memorable Year And Cheers to 2020!

Thank you for your support in 2019 and for making a difference with KKOOM!

What’s made 2019 a memorable year for KKOOM and the children is you. You showed up to give with your hearts to fund special projects, scholarships, camps and holiday parties. There’s so much that happened this year. Here’s some reasons why the past twelve months was an amazing one from KKOOM’s perspective.

___________________________________________________________

[#1] Fifty-five volunteers in South Korea (the most we’ve had in several years) gave their time to be Santa Shoppers or help at our annual Christmas parties

[#2] Seven girls built their confidence in their craft skills by attending an enriching camp

[#3] Thanks to an anonymous donor, KKOOM provided Children’s Day gifts to over 200 children to show them how extra loved they are

[#4] Seven boys experienced Seoul and rode their first train, a 3 hour trip, which they said felt like a “Trip to America”

[#5] Six new toddlers were clothed with support and care through Welcome Boost Funds, including a 100 day old baby, and two of our newest preschool scholars, Minnie and Gabby

[#6] KKOOM launched our Ambassador Program to give friends and supporters a chance to become stronger advocates for Korean children

[#7] People have shared why they support Korean children through the #ShineWithKKOOM campaign

[#8] A brand new bike rack was funded within a week’s notice, a special ask made by Samsungwon’s President

[#9] All of the needs requested by the children’s home were fully funded

[#10] You brought Christmas cheer to 166 children through gifts, cookie decorations, gingerbread house competitions, homemade scarves and hats, and an inaugural talent show

You made this all possible and we are excited what the future holds for KKOOM! 2020 will mark a new decade of improving the lives of Korean children through scholarships, outreach programs, and enrichment activities. KKOOM couldn’t support any of the children without you. Thank you for believing with us that we can truly improve the lives of at-risk youth in South Korea. Together, we will continue building brighter futures for every child we support.

As we count down to the new year, we are happy to share new activities we are providing the children at Samsungwon Children’s Home in January – WinterFest. It will be two days filled with snow sledding at an amusement park, a one day English camp for elementary students, and a chicken/pizza/movie party for 56 children during their winter vacation. We will be sharing more about the events lined up on our social media and newsletter. You can be one of the first people to give here to kick-off 2020 on a positive note!

Thank you for all of your support, love, and generosity.

Cheers to a wonderful new year!
