Time is precious. While the children we serve miss valuable time to create family memories, you, the KKOOM community, step into their lives to give them enriching moments that last a lifetime.
You give joy. Funding 82 new backpacks and 102 new shoes to start a new school year. You give comfort. Feeding Korean children a warm meal during Lunar New Year, Children’s Day, and the Chuseok holidays. You give dreams. Allowing Jaehyuck and Minyeol to afford their tuition and giving Harmony a chance to begin her preschool education. You give love. Providing new clothing and basic necessities to an 8-month-old who arrived in September. You give healing. Launching art activities to support the emotional needs of the children we serve. And most of all, you give hope. Hope for a brighter future and a better tomorrow. But, our impact is not done for 2022.
The Wish Upon a Star Holiday Campaign officially begins on Giving Tuesday. An annual tradition, we will sponsor three meals and Christmas gifts for 167 children at the Samsungwon, Emmanuel, and Aemangwon Children’s Homes. The best news is that we are able to have in-person Christmas parties again, the first time since 2019.
Sponsoring a $40 Christmas gift will fund a specific wish list item. Our hope is to fulfill all the wish list items for every single child we serve. Every donation will be doubled this holiday season, up to $5,000. One of the best gifts you can give someone else is time. While you may not physically be present at the Christmas parties, your giving offers Korean children experiences to remember the good times this holiday season.
The greatest blessing to KKOOM is each of you. On behalf of the children we serve in South Korea, thank you for your steadfast love and support. May you continue to stay safe, healthy, and blessed this holiday season.
With gratitude,
Grace Lee, Executive Director
