We’ve got some great news to share! GlobalGiving let us know that Korean Kids and Orphanage Outreach Mission will be receiving an Airbnb Community Fund Grant from Airbnb! The fund is dedicated to supporting community-led organizations around the world. With this gift, we can support our mission in enriching the lives of Korean children by providing more educational programming, personal well-being activities, and cultural exchange.
Due to Covid, the children we serve have been mandated to stay within the children’s homes and have not been able to see anyone other than staff for over a year. It is our utmost highest priority to enrich their lives to ensure the children feel loved, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive, through this additional funding.
According to the website, Airbnb plans to distribute $100 million USD over the next 10 years to organizations that support communities around the world through the Community Fund. Airbnb’s Host Advisory Board partnered with GlobalGiving to select organizations that addressed the following things: COVID-19 relief, economic empowerment, and education. Airbnb Community Leaders and Host clubs around the world then voted for the organizations they believe have the greatest impact.
In the inaugural year, Airbnb awarded grants to over 150 organizations located in 40 countries across six continents. KKOOM is proud and grateful to have been chosen as one of the grant recipients. This is the largest corporate grant we have received since 2007.
Thank you Airbnb and GlobalGiving for helping to strengthen Korean communities by brightening the lives of children in South Korea’s social welfare system through education and enrichment activities.
