12 Days of KKOOM – [#9] Providing A Smooth Transition

The Welcome Boost Fund helps a newly arrived child feel welcomed with new clothing and basic necessities

Since winter 2019, seven children ages two to eight-years-old have arrived on the doorsteps of Emmanuel and Samsungwon Children’s Homes. Although heart-wrenching to watch another child unceremoniously handed over to the welfare system, it is one of KKOOM’s greatest joys to welcome them home.

Launched in 2016, KKOOM’s Welcome Boost Program helps facilitate a smoother transition for newly-arrived children. We provide a $125 Welcome Boost Fund for house mothers to purchase basic necessities and new clothing.

In total, 22 children over the past four years have benefited from this program. Each time we share the Welcome Boost need, we are amazed at the outpouring of love and financial support from our extended KKOOM family.

Thank you for joining us in so tangibly loving these children as they begin life in a warm, new environment. You are changing a child’s world.
